Serve One Another in Love.
Good Shepherd Foundation delivers food, blankets, tents, and warmth to our neighbors experiencing homelessness across Metro Atlanta — because dignity shouldn't depend on the weather.
Who We Serve
Every Night, Our Neighbors Sleep Outside in Metro Atlanta.
Homelessness in Atlanta isn't shrinking — the city's most recent point-in-time count identified more than 3,060 people experiencing homelessness, a number that climbs every winter as temperatures drop. Behind every count is a person: a veteran, a parent, a teenager aging out of foster care, a neighbor who lost a job and then a home. We meet them where they are, with what they need most.
Food
Hot meals and grocery essentials when the pantry runs empty.
Warmth
Blankets, coats, and tents to survive Georgia's cold nights.
Support
A consistent, caring presence — not just a one-time handout.
Dignity
Treating every neighbor with the respect they deserve.
Hope
Providing encouraging words in time of need.
The Need
Homelessness in Atlanta, By the Numbers.
The City of Atlanta's annual Point-in-Time Count gives the clearest snapshot of who we're called to serve — and the trend line is moving the wrong way.
Many older adults are experiencing homelessness for the first time in their lives — pushed there by rising housing costs, fixed incomes, and health issues that have outpaced what they can afford. And as family homelessness climbs, more children are caught in the instability that comes with losing a home.

"Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don't give reluctantly or in response to pressure. For God loves a person who gives cheerfully. And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. As the Scriptures say, They share freely and give generously to the poor. Their good deeds will be remembered forever. For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you."

Our Impact
What Serving One Another Looks Like.
Our Story
Founded in 2020, Built on a Simple Belief.
It started on a Christmas morning during the pandemic, when the Shepherd family used their own funds to pack bags of food, blankets, and toiletries for homeless neighbors who needed them most. What we realized that day — that it wasn't nearly enough — is why we've shown up every Christmas since, and why we now give all year long.

Our Story
Compassion in Action Since 2020.
Good Shepherd Foundation exists so that no one in Metro Atlanta has to face hunger or cold alone.
How We Began
A Small Act of Compassion, Grown Into a Mission.
During the pandemic, as the Shepherd family prepared for Christmas, we grew concerned for our homeless neighbors and their ability to get essentials because of the fear of transmitting COVID. So we took our own personal funds and put together bags filled with essentials — food, blankets, hats, gloves, toiletries, and money. On Christmas morning, we went out and met our homeless neighbors right where they were, blessing them with what we had.
It was then we realized that what we had wasn't nearly enough to scratch the surface of the need. So every year since, we've personally dedicated Christmas Day to letting our neighbors know they are loved and not forgotten. We've since expanded our giving throughout the year, but Christmas remains our largest distribution day.
We believe that serving one another in love means showing up consistently, treating people with dignity, and meeting practical needs — food, warmth, and shelter — without judgment or conditions.
